OwlOCR is an optical character recognition application that processes text in PDF files, images, or directly from the screen, transforming it into plain text. The entire conversion process runs securely on the user's device; images or files are not sent to external cloud services. This method enables the application to function behind corporate firewalls and in environments without an internet connection. Language recognition, which can improve results, is only available for English. For documents in other languages, it is recommended to disable this feature. The application does not preserve rich text formatting, such as font size, bold, or italics; its output is exclusively plain text, ready to be copied and used.
