Fluent Cleaner Classic 1.18: Command-Line Automation and More Precise Cleaning Logic

In version 1.18 of Fluent Cleaner Classic, the main focus was not on expanding the feature set, but on improving the predictability of operation and the ease of maintaining the application. The developer discarded the idea of a built-in Mini mode that had been tested in version 1.17 and decided not to include it in the stable build. This step allowed Classic to remain compact, stable, and easy to maintain. However, the concept is not closed: in the future it may return as an external add-on or module, if the project eventually gains a plugin system.

Instead, Classic gained the ability to automate via the command line, which fits the application’s lightweight architecture much better. The saved set of cleaning parameters can now be analyzed or applied in the background, without user involvement. Selective work with individual cleaning categories is also permitted. This allows FluentCleaner to be integrated into batch files, PowerShell scripts, and other automation tools.

Special attention was paid to documentation. In the «Options > Handoff / CLI» section, reference materials and ready-to-copy command examples were added for immediate use. Runs through the command-line interface now return exit codes suitable for automated processing, and detailed results are written to the file %AppData%\FluentCleaner\auto.log.

A number of bugs affecting daily work were fixed. Deleting cookies no longer returns the user to the beginning of the list: the browser databases are still refreshed, but the working position is preserved, and the selection moves to the nearest remaining entry. In the context menus of both Cookie Manager lists, a «Select all» option was added, which respects active search filters and selects only the currently visible elements.

The correctness of handling an intentionally empty cleaning selection was improved. Previously, such a selection was mistakenly perceived as a clean installation, which caused the default entries to return after restart. Now the empty set is preserved and taken into account, including during silent cleaning and command-line operations. In addition, DetectFile handling for 32-bit applications was improved: entries using %ProgramFiles% correctly detect installation in both Program Files and Program Files (x86), even when using wildcards.

In the results analysis interface, the Entry column now automatically uses the available space, while the file, registry, and size columns remain compact and stable. Azerbaijani localization was added, expanding the list of languages supported by Classic. The Brazilian Portuguese and French localizations were also updated, the localized text for the «Select all» option in the Cookie Manager was added, and the structure of the English and German strings was cleaned up to simplify future maintenance.
