  • Linear material optimization. The software calculates cutting layouts for bars, tubes, profiles, and beams. It analyzes the required lengths and determines the optimal combination of cuts on base materials. The algorithm considers multiple material sources and technical constraints.
  • Automated remnant management. The system automatically records leftovers from previous cuts and reuses them in later plans. Remnants are stored with their exact dimensions and are available for future optimizations, reducing unused material inventory.
  • Cost-based optimization calculation. This function prioritizes material usage based on its cost per unit. The algorithm first selects the most economical material sources and considers different prices for the same material type from various suppliers or batches.
  • External data import. Allows loading cut lists from XLS, CSV, plain text files, and Access databases. Data can be pasted directly from the clipboard and mapped to the corresponding program fields.
  • Complete inventory management. Maintains a detailed record of all materials, sources, and warehouses. Each material has specific technical parameters and is organized hierarchically with unique identification codes for precise tracking.
  • Cutting parameter configuration. Allows defining cutting tolerances, saw kerf widths, grain directions, and specific cutting patterns. These settings are saved as reusable templates for different types of materials and operations.
  • Detailed report generation. Produces documents with cutting layouts, part labels, cost calculation, and material utilization. Reports show utilization percentages, remnant lists, and efficiency statistics.
  • Cross-platform export. Results can be saved in PDF, XLS, CSV, RTF, HTML, and XML formats. Each format maintains the complete report layout and data for external processing or archiving.
  • Database integration. Uses Firebird as the database engine to store all information. Supports automatic backup operations, data restoration, and sending backup copies via email.
  • Complex assembly management. Allows defining sets of parts that form larger units. The system optimizes cutting considering the relationships between components of the same assembly and maintains their logical grouping.
  • Advanced filtering and sorting. Offers multiple criteria for organizing and visualizing data. Information can be filtered by dates, specific materials, or custom conditions, and sorted by length, quantity, cost, or description.
  • Multiple warehouse configuration. Manages different storage locations for materials and remnants. Each warehouse has independent parameters and can be selectively used in cutting plans.

CutLogic 1D was developed by TMachines and its development began in 2008. The program is written in Object Pascal using the Delphi development environment. The software architecture was specifically designed to solve linear cutting optimization problems in industrial and manufacturing environments.
