One-click theme application. After a theme is selected and Apply theme is clicked, the program changes folders, drives, This PC, the Recycle Bin, Control Panel and file types in a single operation. Windows refreshes the icons within seconds, so individual icons do not have to be replaced by hand.
Folders with previews. ThemeControl also changes the Windows 11 folders that display thumbnails of photos and videos. Other icon tools leave these folders yellow, which makes the theme look incomplete.
Restore previous icons. The Restore previous icons function returns every icon to its exact state before the theme was applied. It can be used at any time, so each theme can be tested and removed later.
Theme wallpapers. Themes that include a wallpaper apply it from the separate Wallpaper page, independently of the icons. The image is sized for each connected monitor.
Every icon size. Each icon contains the sizes Windows 11 uses, from 256 px down to 16 px. Windows therefore does not stretch or shrink the images, and the icon stays sharp in every view.
Hand-retouched small icons. The 16, 20 and 24 px icons in the File Explorer sidebar and lists are retouched manually. They stay crisp instead of becoming blurred, as happens when a large icon is scaled down.
Lightweight theme files. Windows never shows icons larger than 256 px, so themes do not include larger sizes. The files are smaller and the system icon cache is lighter.
Focus on the most visible icons. The work concentrates on folders, drives, This PC, the Recycle Bin, Control Panel and file types, which Windows 11 shows constantly. Rarely seen icons come as Extra Icons, and the user decides where they go.
Any icon pack in PRO. ThemeControl PRO applies any icon pack, including IconPackager themes the user already owns. The program imports them and applies them in one click.
Folder view in PRO. This ThemeControl PRO function shows big icons in every folder at once. The view of each folder does not have to be configured separately.
Desktop spacing in PRO. The function adjusts the space between desktop icons. The user can increase the distance and arrange shortcuts more clearly.
Free version and PRO trial. ThemeControl Free is a free download and provides every PRO function for 14 days, with Lite themes to try them. Afterward it keeps working with a Lite theme to keep and every theme bought at OhMyIcons.
One-time PRO license. ThemeControl PRO is paid once and can be used on up to 3 PCs. The founder price is $11, and founders receive a discount on every new module.
Windows 11 and Windows 10 support. The application is made for Windows 11 and also works on 64-bit Windows 10. It is installed with the ThemeControl-Setup file and opens theme files with the .thc extension.

The first theme released for ThemeControl is Claus 11, and every new OhMyIcons theme comes with the application. The developers are preparing modules for cursors, widgets and screensavers, and have announced ThemeControl Studio, a tool for artists to create their own themes and sell them at OhMyIcons.
