Aerium Browser is a web browser for Android, Windows, and Linux that sends no telemetry and runs Chromium extensions, including Manifest V2, with uBlock Origin preinstalled. • No telemetry or background data collection. Aerium sends no usage statistics, behavioral profiles, or analytics to any server. The browser makes no background connections for tracking purposes, so browsing activity stays on the device and cannot be linked to a profile.
  • Extension support, including Manifest V2. Desktop extensions run on Android, and Manifest V2 add-ons work alongside newer ones. Extensions are installed from the extension store, from the Opera and Edge add-on stores, or from a .crx file taken from a release page. A permissions prompt appears before every installation.
  • uBlock Origin preinstalled. The content blocker is active from the first launch with its standard filter lists. It can be removed in the extensions list like any other extension. uBlock Origin Lite, from the same author, is available as a version with a smaller footprint.
  • Extension management and Incognito access. Any extension can be pinned to the toolbar from its ⋮ menu in the extensions list. To run an extension in Incognito mode, open Manage extensions, select Details, and enable Allow in Incognito.
  • Aerium Guard settings panel. Privacy, security, and speed options are collected in one place. Each protection can be reviewed and changed without searching through separate menus or internal flag pages.
  • Global Privacy Control signal. The browser sends the Global Privacy Control header on every page. Websites that honor the signal receive a clear request not to sell or share the visitor's data.
  • Fingerprinting resistance. Protection for canvas, text measurement, and WebGL is always on. These interfaces are commonly used to identify a device by its hardware and font rendering, and Aerium alters their output to make that identification unreliable.
  • HTTPS by default with Balanced Mode. Pages are opened over HTTPS whenever a secure version exists. Balanced Mode does this without full-page warnings, so sites that support only HTTP still load.
  • Site rules for cookies and data. Each site can be set to keep its data, keep it until Aerium is closed, or clear it when its last tab closes. Cookie AutoDelete V3 can be added for automatic cleanup of cookies after tabs close.
  • Safe Browsing and DRM off by default. Both features stay disabled until they are turned on in settings. Safe Browsing on Android depends on Google services, and keeping it off removes that dependency.
  • True black dark mode. The dark theme uses pure black backgrounds. On OLED screens a black pixel is switched off, which reduces power draw and brightness around content.
  • Background media playback. Audio and video continue when the user switches to another app or turns the screen off. Playback is controlled from the system media controls.
  • Native password manager autofill. Password managers fill login forms through Android autofill. Credentials are handled by the manager of the user's choice and not by the browser.
  • Web apps without Google services. Any site can be installed from the menu and opens in its own window. Links to that site from other apps open in the same window, and installed web apps are managed in Settings under Web apps.
  • Backup and restore. Open tabs, site permissions, settings, and flags can be backed up and restored on another phone. A new device returns to the same configuration without manual setup.
  • Download manager handoff and search engine choice. Downloads can be passed to an external download manager. The default search engine respects privacy, more engines are listed in Settings, and a custom engine can be added.
  • Update checks and extra recommended extensions. Aerium checks for a new version once a day and notifies the user, and it can be added to Obtainium in one tap. Upstream security releases are picked up within a day. floccus syncs bookmarks on storage the user controls, TablissNG replaces the default new tab page, and Decentraleyes serves common libraries locally instead of from a CDN.

Aerium Browser is developed by Aerium and has been available since [YEAR]. It is a thin layer over Chromium, with Vanadium from GrapheneOS as the hardened base. The idea of desktop extensions on a Vanadium base comes from Titanium Browser by jqssun, which also supplied the patch.sh, common.sh, and args.gn files. Several flag names and behaviors come from ungoogled-chromium, Cromite by uazo contributed two DNS-over-HTTPS fixes, and Bromite wrote the canvas fingerprinting shuffler. uBlock Origin by Raymond Hill ships as a separate program. The browser engine is written mainly in C++, and the build scripts are written in Shell. Builds run on GitHub Actions in sequential jobs, finished builds are published as releases, and the project is funded by Monero and Litecoin donations. The name refers to aerogel, the lightest solid material
