  • Resource monitoring. Aptakube shows the current state of pods, nodes, deployments, and other Kubernetes resources. Data is updated live, so problems can be spotted quickly.
  • Multi-cluster support. Connect to and view several Kubernetes clusters at the same time from a single application, and switch between them quickly.
  • Log viewer. Shows container logs in a dedicated panel and can stream logs from multiple pods at once. Supports searching and filtering to analyze logs efficiently.
  • Resource browser and namespaces. Browse resources across one or several namespaces, and filter or search them without typing kubectl commands.
  • YAML viewing and editing. Lets you view the YAML of any resource and edit it directly in the app, with syntax highlighting, before applying the changes.
  • Authentication through kubeconfig. Uses your existing kubeconfig and its authentication methods, including the exec plugins used by cloud providers. Credentials stay on your device.
  • Resource metrics. Shows CPU and memory usage for pods and nodes, based on data from Metrics Server when it is available in the cluster.
  • Secrets and ConfigMaps. Lets you view ConfigMaps and Secrets directly in the interface. Sensitive values can be shown or hidden as needed.
  • Workload actions. Lets you perform common actions on workloads, such as scaling, restarting, and deleting resources, directly from the interface.
  • Cluster events. Shows Kubernetes events in a clear list, so you can quickly see what is happening in a cluster and why a resource is failing.
  • Port forwarding and shell access. Lets you forward ports to pods and open a shell in a container without leaving the application.
  • Local-first design. Aptakube works directly with the Kubernetes API from your machine and does not require installing any agent or component in your clusters.

Aptakube was created by an independent team focused on developer tools for Kubernetes. It is a cross-platform desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux and is distributed as a commercial product with a free tier for personal use. It is actively developed, with regular updates that add new features and improve performance.
