Development of Defender Remover began in 2020 as a personal project to overcome the limitations of manually disabling Windows Defender. The main author is Ionut Bara, and the code is written in Batch (BAT) to ensure direct compatibility with Windows without external dependencies. The tool is distributed under the MIT license, which allows it to be used and modified without restrictions.
