  • Create or resize partitions. The function creates new partitions in unallocated space. Modifies the size of existing partitions, extending or shrinking them, without deleting the files stored on them. The process redistributes storage space between volumes.
  • Merge or split partitions. Combines two or more adjacent partitions into a single unified volume. Conversely, it segments one large partition into several smaller partitions. The original data is reorganized during the operation.
  • Extend or shrink partitions. Dynamically adjusts the size of partitions on the same physical disk. It allows taking free space from one partition and allocating it to another adjacent one, optimizing storage distribution.
  • Clone partitions. Creates an exact replica of an entire partition to another location on the disk or to a different disk. It copies all data, the file system structure, and the attributes of the original partition.
  • Recover RAW or lost partitions. Restores partitions that have been deleted, damaged, or whose file system has been corrupted and appears as RAW. It scans the disk sector by sector to rebuild the partition table and recover the data.
  • Convert logical partition to primary. Changes the type of a partition from logical to primary, and vice versa. This conversion is necessary to modify the system's boot structure or install additional operating systems.
  • Resize clusters. Modifies the allocation unit size of the file system. An optimized cluster size can improve storage efficiency and file access speed on the partition.
  • Check partition. Analyzes the integrity of a partition's file system. It detects and repairs logical errors, inconsistencies in the directory structure, and problems in the file allocation table.
  • Clone entire disk. Performs a sector-by-sector copy of an entire hard drive to another drive of equal or larger capacity. It clones all data, the operating system, installed applications, and settings.
  • 4K Alignment. Ensures that the file system clusters align with the physical 4K sectors of solid-state drives and advanced hard drives. Correct alignment is critical for the performance and longevity of the drive.
  • Disk conversion. Transforms disks from MBR to GPT partition style, and vice versa, without data loss. It also converts basic disks to dynamic disks, enabling features like spanned and mirrored volumes.
  • Rebuild MBR. Repairs the Master Boot Record when it is damaged or corrupted, which prevents the operating system from starting. It restores the boot code and the partition table in the disk's boot sector.
  • Scan bad sectors. Identifies and marks physically damaged sectors on the hard disk surface. The software isolates these sectors to prevent the system from attempting to write data to non-functional areas.
  • Convert FAT to NTFS. Migrates a partition's file system from FAT16 or FAT32 to NTFS. This conversion provides advantages in security with access control lists, native compression, disk quotas, and fault tolerance.
  • Convert NTFS to FAT. Changes a partition's file system from NTFS to FAT32. This operation is required to ensure compatibility with consumer devices, video game consoles, or embedded systems that only recognize FAT.
  • Convert FAT to exFAT. Upgrades FAT32 partitions to the exFAT file system. exFAT overcomes the file size limitations of FAT32 and is compatible with modern Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Migrate OS to SSD or HDD. Transfers the complete Windows installation, along with all drivers and settings, from an original disk to a new solid-state drive or hard disk. The migrated system is bootable.
  • Create bootable media. Generates a bootable USB drive or burns a CD/DVD with the software's recovery environment. This media allows booting a computer that won't start and running partition repair tools.
  • Migrate programs and data. Relocates installed applications and user folders from the system partition to another volume on the disk. This process frees up space on the main operating system drive.
  • Monitor disk health. Monitors S.M.A.R.T. parameters of storage drives in real-time. It monitors temperature, power-on hours, error count, and other hardware health indicators.

The Disk Partition Wizard application was developed by iBeesoft. Its development began in 2008. The software is primarily written in the C++ programming language, with additional components in C. The development team focuses on data management and system recovery tools.
