  • Shelf in the notch. The main shelf resides in the MacBook's notch. It allows you to drag and drop files for temporary storage. Files remain accessible from this central point without taking up space on the desktop. Interaction is done through drag gestures towards the notch.
  • Floating basket. A temporary basket that appears anywhere on the screen when you shake the mouse pointer while dragging a file. It facilitates the quick collection of multiple items from different locations without navigating through windows.
  • Clipboard history. Records the entire history of copied text and images. Includes a search function to locate specific entries. It allows you to extract text from images using OCR. Items can be marked as favorites for quick access and dragged directly from the interface.
  • Native system indicators. Replaces the default indicators for volume, brightness, battery, and caps lock. Displays visual notifications integrated with the operating system's design. Provides status information without interrupting your workflow.
  • Media playback controls. Integrates playback controls into the notch interface. Displays the album art, song title, and artist. Includes a slider to seek within the track and buttons for play, pause, and track change.
  • Quick file view. Allows you to preview the content of files stored on the shelf without opening external applications. Supports a variety of common image, text, and document formats. Preview is activated via keyboard shortcuts or gestures.
  • Screen element capture. A tool for capturing specific regions of an application window. Automatically identifies interface elements. Saves captures directly to the shelf or clipboard for immediate use.
  • Window management. A window organization system using predefined keyboard shortcuts. Distributes active windows into pre-configured layouts on the screen. Optimizes workspace for multitasking with multiple panels.
  • Voice transcription. Converts speech into text using the system's speech recognition services. Records audio from the microphone and generates a textual transcript. The resulting text is automatically placed in the clipboard or saved to the shelf.
  • Per-display configuration. The shelf expands only on the screen where you are interacting in multi-monitor setups. Activation and behavior are tied to the coordinates of each screen. Prevents interface duplication across all screens simultaneously.
  • Consistent shortcut recording. A consistent interface for assigning keyboard shortcuts across all extensions. Each main function allows for the customization of key combinations. Includes a visible button to reset shortcuts to their default values.
  • Activation customization. Configuration of sensitivity and activation zone for the notch shelf. Defines the mouse or trackpad gestures that display the interface. Allows hiding the shelf with a secondary click according to user preferences.

Droppy's development began in 2023. The program is created by iordv. The application is written entirely in the Swift programming language using native macOS frameworks. The interface and functionalities are specifically designed to integrate with the operating system's APIs.
