Floatoon

Floatoon — Free Download. Interactive on-screen animations
Floatoon is an application that displays animations of characters and pets on the device screen. The animations overlay other applications and remain visible during normal computer use. Users select characters from a library and adjust parameters such as size and movement speed. The software runs the animations with optimized system resource consumption.

  • Character library. The application includes a collection of animated models available for use. This library contains characters from different categories, such as pets and fictional figures. Each character has a predefined set of animations and behaviors.
  • Overlay animations. The graphic elements are rendered in an independent layer over the interface of other applications. This feature maintains the visibility of the animations while the user works with different programs. The overlay does not interfere with the basic functionality of the operating system.
  • Size adjustment. Allows modifying the dimensions of the animated characters. The scale control operates using percentage values or preset levels. Changes are applied in real time without needing to restart the animation.
  • Speed control. Regulates the frequency of movement and transition between character animations. This parameter affects the overall behavioral dynamics without altering the original timing of the animated sequences.
  • Ghost mode. Reduces the opacity of the characters to achieve a semi-transparent effect. In this state, the animations maintain their full functionality but decrease their visual prominence. The mode is designed for situations that require less distraction.
  • Edge interaction. The characters detect the boundaries of the display area and react by changing direction. The system calculates simple collisions with the edges of the screen and generates appropriate animated responses for each situation.
  • Autonomous movement. The characters execute movement patterns without user intervention. These patterns include random trajectories within the available space and transitions between different points on the screen. The system manages the animation cycle continuously.
  • Multiple selection. Supports the simultaneous display of several characters on the screen. Each instance maintains its independent behavior and manages its own animation cycles. The maximum number of active characters depends on the hardware capacity.
  • Idle animations. The characters execute specific sequences during periods without user interaction. These animations include repetitive cycles and rest states that activate automatically after a set time without input events.
  • Resource optimization. The graphics engine prioritizes performance through efficient rendering techniques. The application monitors CPU and memory consumption, automatically adjusting the complexity of the animations based on the availability of system resources.
  • Behavior configuration. Allows modifying specific parameters that determine how characters interact with their environment. These settings include sensitivity to screen edges, frequency of animation changes, and movement preferences.
  • Preference system. Stores personalized configurations between usage sessions. Configuration data is saved in local files and restored automatically when starting the application. Includes options to reset default values.

The development of Floatoon began in 2025 as an independent project. The creators are developers specialized in visual entertainment applications. The programming was done using the Java language along with the Android SDK rendering engine. The first public version was distributed through the Google Play Store platform.
