GhostInterview

GhostInterview — Free Download. AI Copilot for Technical Interviews
GhostInterview is an undetectable artificial intelligence assistant built for software engineers facing technical hiring processes. The tool provides real-time guidance during live interviews for coding problems, LeetCode-style questions, system design, and object-oriented design. GhostInterview runs on macOS and Windows, captures questions via screenshots, responds to voice prompts, and remains invisible during screen sharing.

  • Live coding guidance. During a coding interview, GhostInterview analyzes the problem statement extracted from the screen or microphone and delivers a step-by-step solution structure. The candidate receives suggestions about algorithms, data structures, and time complexity without interrupting the visual flow of their code editor.
  • LeetCode-style problem solving. This function automatically interprets the text of a LeetCode-type problem and generates a clear explanation of the optimal approach, including common variations and edge cases. This assists the engineer to explain reasoning with precision during the interview.
  • System design assistant. For senior-level interviews, GhostInterview provides response frameworks about architecture, scalability, databases, caching, queues, and load balancing. The tool suggests how to draw diagrams and justify design decisions to the interviewer.
  • Object-oriented design copilot. When the question involves modeling classes and relationships, GhostInterview proposes a class structure, applicable design patterns, and responsibilities for each component. The candidate receives guidance to build the model in the required programming language.
  • Screenshot-based question capture. GhostInterview allows taking screenshots of the problem statement or diagram shared by the interviewer. The tool extracts text and visual context, activating corresponding assistance without manually typing the problem.
  • User-triggered voice commands. The system responds to predefined voice instructions such as "explain complexity" or "suggest data structure". The candidate controls assistance without typing or moving the mouse outside the interview window.
  • Invisible screen share mode. The GhostInterview interface remains hidden from the interviewer during screen sharing. Only the user sees the suggestions, while the broadcast shows exclusively the editor, virtual whiteboard, or browser.
  • Cross-platform meeting support. The application runs in the background on Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other video conferencing platforms. GhostInterview detects active window changes and adjusts assistance based on the tab or application the candidate has in the foreground.
  • Time and space complexity analysis. The tool automatically calculates Big O complexity of the proposed code and suggests how to explain trade-offs between time and memory. This function prepares the engineer for optimization questions during the interview.
  • Test case and edge case generation. GhostInterview creates a list of typical test cases, including boundary, empty, or extreme value inputs. The candidate uses these to validate their solution live and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Session history and post-interview review. Each simulated or real interview saves the questions, assisted answers, and delivered suggestions. The user reviews the history to identify improvement patterns without relying on immediate memory.
  • Practice mode with interview simulation. Before the actual interview, GhostInterview generates random coding, system design, and OOD problems with a timer and simulated screen sharing restriction. This trains the candidate to use the tool under conditions similar to real ones.

GhostInterview development started in 2022 by a team of software engineers with experience in hiring processes at major technology companies. The original developers created the tool after identifying the need for live technical assistance without detection risk. The program is written primarily in TypeScript for desktop logic, with modules in Python for natural language processing and voice command recognition. The stable version for macOS and Windows launched in early 2023.
