  • Ambisonic encoders. Convert mono or multichannel audio sources into ambisonic format. They support different orders of spatial representation to capture the direction of sound in three dimensions.
  • Headphone decoders. Transform ambisonic signals into binaural audio using HRTF models. They enable accurate spatial playback on headphone listening systems.
  • Loudspeaker decoders. Adapt ambisonic signals to arbitrary loudspeaker setups. They include settings for different output geometries and layouts.
  • Dynamic processing. Includes limiters and multiband compression operating in the ambisonic domain. They let you control the dynamic range while preserving spatial characteristics.
  • Spatial rotators. Manipulate the orientation of the ambisonic sound field. They let you rotate the entire acoustic space while preserving the relationships between sources.
  • Spatial reverb. Reverberation algorithms that preserve ambisonic properties. They create virtual acoustic spaces with precise directional characteristics.
  • Analysis tools. Provide visualization of spatial and spectral content. They let you monitor sound energy across different directions and frequency bands.
  • Format conversion. Convert between different ambisonic orders and spatial representations. They facilitate interoperability between systems and applications.
  • Matrix processing. Advanced operations for transforming ambisonic signals using matrices. They enable complex manipulations of the sound field.
  • Standalone applications. Standalone versions for use with audio systems such as JACK. They allow integration into workflows without the need for a DAW.

Developed since 2015 by researchers and students at the IEM, the suite is written in C++ using the JUCE framework. This enables compatibility with the major plugin formats (VST, VST3, LV2, AU, AAX). The project remains active, with contributions from both the academic community and the professional audio community.
