  • Central Processing Unit (CPU) monitoring. The application displays real-time total and per-core processor usage, operating frequency, temperatures from various sensors, voltage, and power consumption, allowing detailed workload analysis.
  • Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) monitoring. It provides data on GPU core utilization, dedicated and shared video memory usage, core and hot spot temperatures, as well as energy consumption and integrated fan speeds.
  • Random Access Memory (RAM) monitoring. Reports total and available system memory, memory in use, cached memory, paged memory, and read/write speeds, facilitating bottleneck detection.
  • Storage drive (Drives) monitoring. Shows the drive model, letter, total capacity, and free space. Clicking on a drive name displays S.M.A.R.T. data, including health status, temperature, power-on hours, and reallocated sector count.
  • Network interface monitoring. Visualizes IP addresses, link speed, real-time upload and download traffic (expressible in bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, etc.), and total bandwidth usage of active network adapters.
  • Fan speed monitoring (Fans). Captures revolutions per minute (RPM) of system fans connected to the motherboard and, when supported, GPU fans, allowing cooling effort supervision.
  • Data rate unit conversion for transfer speeds. Includes a configuration option to automatically convert data rate units (e.g., from bytes per second to kilobytes, megabytes, or gigabytes per second) on network and disk panels, adapting the reading to traffic magnitude.
  • Interface customization as an application bar. Offers the ability to dock the application window to desktop edges, functioning as an app bar on Windows that cannot be covered by other maximized windows.
  • Storage drive wake-up control. Provides a new option to prevent hard drives from entering sleep state or to wake them when querying their data, useful for systems with multiple drives that should not power down.
  • Sensor update interval adjustment. Allows modifying the frequency with which the application queries hardware data, adapting to user performance needs or required precision in data logging.
  • Individual monitor and sensor selection. Users can enable or disable complete hardware components (such as a specific GPU) or individual sensors (like a particular temperature) to focus the view only on data of interest.
  • Multi-screen docking and appearance adjustments. Supports selecting the display screen for the window, adjusting docking position, font size, panel width, and customizing the colors used in the interface.
  • Automatic startup after user login. Incorporates an option for the application to start automatically in the background once the user logs into the system, ensuring monitoring from power-on.

LibreDiagnostics development began as a complete rewrite from scratch, taking the experience and features of SidebarDiagnostics as a reference but with a different technical foundation. The project is created and primarily maintained by developer Blacktempel, with contributions from DavidTobar456 and a1ive. The application is written entirely in C# and built on .NET 8, utilizing Avalonia UI as the graphical interface framework, providing cross-platform capabilities, although its primary and most tested support is Windows 10 and later versions, with Linux being experimental. The first repository commit dates back to December 17, 2025, and since then it has seen active development, with multiple updates adding functionalities such as data rate unit conversion, improved screen identification using unique hardware identifiers, and integration of the latest versions of the LibreHardwareMonitor library for sensor reading, eliminating previous dependencies like WinRing0 that could cause antivirus alerts.
