  • SIP Registration. The core of the server. Manages the authentication and registration status of SIP endpoints such as IP phones and gateways. Maintains a list of authorized users and their current contact addresses for call routing.
  • Call Routing. Processes the signaling of incoming and outgoing calls. Based on configurable rules, it determines the final destination of a call. Analyzes dialed numbers and applies transformations to redirect voice traffic.
  • Voicemail (IVR). Interactive voice response system. Plays recorded welcome messages and prompts the caller to dial an extension. Allows recording of absence messages that are stored as audio files for later retrieval.
  • Call Forwarding (Find Me/Follow Me). Defines sequences of numbers to which a call should be redirected in case of no answer. The call attempts to contact a predefined list of devices (desk phone, mobile) sequentially or simultaneously until a connection is established.
  • Ring Groups. Groups multiple extensions so they ring simultaneously or in a specific order for an incoming call. Distributes call load among a team, such as a sales or support department.
  • Call Detail Records (CDR). Generates detailed logs of all processed calls. Each record includes a timestamp, source number, destination number, call duration, and status. Data is exported for cost analysis and traceability.
  • System Blacklist. Blocks incoming calls from specific phone numbers. Prevents contact from unwanted sources like telemarketing or spam. Configured with number patterns for broad or specific blocking.
  • STUN Support. Implements the STUN (Session Traversal Utilities for NAT) protocol for clients behind routers. Helps SIP endpoints discover their public IP address and NAT type, facilitating connectivity in complex networks.
  • Web Administration Interface. Management console accessible from a web browser. From this interface, users, routing rules, IVR menus are configured, and system logs and real-time status are consulted.
  • VoIP/PSTN Gateway Integration. Connects the VoIP network to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Allows making and receiving calls over traditional phone lines using a physical gateway or a trunking VoIP service provider.
  • Status Monitoring. Displays the presence and registration status of all users or extensions on the system. Indicates if a device is available, on a call, or offline, providing an overview of operational status.
  • Portable Configuration. All settings and data are stored within the application's installation directory. Allows transferring or backing up the entire system by copying a single folder, with no dependencies on the operating system registry.

The miniSIPServer application was started in 2007. Development is done by MYVOIPAPP, a company specialized in communication solutions based on the SIP standard. The software is primarily written in the C++ programming language for high performance in real-time signal processing and efficient management of network connections.
