  • Predefined presets. The application includes preset configurations for common sound effects such as coins, shots, explosions, and power-ups. These presets serve as an initial base for sound generation.
  • Multiple waveform types. Support for four fundamental waveforms: square, sawtooth, sine, and noise. Each waveform type produces distinct sound characteristics.
  • Temporary storage. Ability to save up to ten generated sounds in temporary memory slots. This function retains the generation parameters during the work session.
  • Parameter files. System for saving and loading .rfx files containing the sound generation parameters. The files have a small size of 104 bytes.
  • Data export. Conversion of generated sounds to .wav, .raw formats and .h files with byte arrays. This feature facilitates integration into programming projects.
  • Sampling configuration. Customizable control of sampling frequency, bits per sample, and number of channels during export. Allows adapting audio quality to specific requirements.
  • Interface styles. Multiple visual themes for the graphical interface with support for custom styles via .rgs files. The styles modify the visual appearance of the program.
  • Command-line conversion. Batch functionality to convert .rfx files to .wav via terminal. Processes multiple files automatically.
  • Command generation. Creation of audio files from presets via command line. Generates sounds without needing a graphical interface.
  • Audio player. Playback capability for .wav, .ogg, .mp3, and .flac formats through the terminal. Functions as a basic playback tool.
  • Complete portability. The program runs as a single file with no external dependencies. No installation on the system is required.

rFXGen was developed by Raylib Technologies as part of the tool ecosystem for video game development. Development began in 2020 as an evolution of the SFXR generator. The program is written in the C language using the raylib framework for the graphical interface.
