UniGetUI was developed by Martí Climent as a personal project in 2022. The program was originally written in Python using the Qt framework for the graphical interface, and was later rewritten in C# with WinUI. The first public version was released in 2022 with basic support for Winget, and integration with other package managers was added afterwards. Active development continues with regular updates that add features and improve stability.
