  • Multiboot creation. YUMI exFAT allows you to install numerous Linux distributions and tools on a single flash drive. Each system is added independently, creating a unified boot menu. Items can be removed or updated individually without affecting the rest.
  • exFAT support. Uses the exFAT file system, which overcomes the file size limitations of FAT32. This is necessary for large ISO images, such as modern Linux distributions or Windows repair sets. The drive can store files larger than 4 GB.
  • Legacy and UEFI mode. The utility configures the bootloader to work with both traditional BIOS and modern UEFI systems. This ensures compatibility with most existing hardware, from older computers to the latest models.
  • File selection interface. Incorporates a search dialog to easily locate ISO images stored on the hard drive. It does not require manually entering file paths, reducing errors during selection.
  • Integrated formatting. Includes an option to format the USB drive before the first installation. Performs a quick or full format, preparing the device for the multiboot creation process. Automatically selects the exFAT file system.
  • Entry management. Allows viewing the list of operating systems installed on the drive. Offers the function to remove specific entries from the boot menu without needing to reformat the entire device. Facilitates updating distributions.
  • Linux persistence support. For compatible Linux distributions, allows creating a persistence file. This file saves changes made during the session, user configurations, and downloaded files, retaining them between reboots.
  • Windows PE compatible. Supports the integration of Windows Preinstallation Environments into the multiboot drive. This allows using system recovery, diagnostic, and repair tools on the same device alongside other systems.
  • Distribution updates. Allows overwriting an older version of a distribution with a newer one without affecting other entries. Simply select the same destination folder and the new ISO image during the installation process.
  • Additional tools. Includes options to install low-level utilities directly from the menu. These tools can perform memory tests, hard drive diagnostics, or password recovery, expanding the basic functionality.
  • Customizable menu generation. The generated boot menu can be configured to a certain extent. Allows modifying timeouts, wallpapers, and titles, adapting the appearance to user preferences.
  • Portability. The program is portable and does not require installation on the system. It runs directly from the executable file, allowing it to be used on different computers without leaving traces in the system registry.

YUMI exFAT was developed by Pendrivelinux as an evolution of the original YUMI. Development began in 2011, expanding the capabilities of the standard version. The program is written in AutoIt, a free scripting language for Windows automation. The creator is Chris Stanton, who maintains and updates the project.
