  • Completely offline invoicing. All information is stored on the local machine using an SQLite database. No internet connection is required to create, edit, or save invoices, nor to access history or generate reports. Data never leaves the device, eliminating cloud-related risks.
  • Professional PDF generation. Convert any invoice or quotation to PDF format with one click. The document includes company logo, tax details, product breakdown, quantities, taxes, totals, and a UPI QR code for immediate payments. Available in Classic, Modern, or Minimal templates.
  • Client and product management. Add, edit, search, and delete clients with fields such as name, email, address, and tax identification number (GSTIN). Similarly, store products or services with unit price, HSN code, and tax rate. Lists include sorting and pagination to handle large volumes.
  • Payment recording and outstanding balance. One or multiple partial payments can be recorded against each invoice. The system automatically updates the status (Unpaid / Partial / Paid) and displays the outstanding balance in all views. Each payment generates a downloadable PDF receipt, and the final invoice includes a "PAID IN FULL" stamp.
  • Role-based access control. Two roles exist: administrator and standard user. The administrator can modify company settings, PDF parameters, perform backups and restore data, as well as delete records. Standard users only create and edit invoices, clients, and products, without access to critical settings or permanent deletions.
  • Invoices and quotations with cloning. Both invoice and quotation documents are created, distinguished by color in the listing. Any document can be duplicated with one click to generate a new version without re-entering data. This accelerates creation of recurring invoices or similar quotations.
  • Multiple currencies and tax rates. Supports currencies INR, USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AED, SGD, AUD, and CAD, selectable per invoice. For taxes, includes GSTIN fields, HSN codes, per-product tax rates, or global rates applicable to the entire invoice, complying with Indian regulations and adapting to other tax regimes.
  • UPI QR code for instant payments. Each PDF invoice can embed a scannable QR code that directs to payment applications such as GPay, PhonePe, or Paytm. The customer opens the app, scans the code, and completes the transfer without manually entering data.
  • Bulk actions and CSV export. From the invoice list, multiple documents can be selected to export their data to CSV (compatible with spreadsheets and accounting software), generate PDFs in batch, or move them to trash. The trash view allows recovering invoices before permanent deletion.
  • Customizable quantity column label. The text "Quantity" can be renamed according to the business type. For example, use "Hours" for consulting services, "Units" for physical goods, "Days" for rentals, or "Sessions" for education. This adapts the interface to the user's actual terminology.
  • One-click backup and restore. A button generates a backup file of the entire database (clients, products, invoices, payments, and settings) to any location on the disk. From the same panel, a previous backup can be restored, allowing data transfer between machines or recovery after a system failure.
  • User authentication and forced password change. Access requires username and password, with session timeout due to inactivity. The first time a new user logs in, the system forces them to change their password, avoiding default credentials and improving internal security.

Invoiso began development in 2022 as a response to the need for a free, subscription-free invoicing application that does not depend on the cloud. The main developers are an independent team with experience in desktop applications for small businesses. The program is written in Python, using the PySide6 framework (Qt6) for the graphical interface and SQLite as the embedded database engine. The initial version was released in early 2023, and since then modules for partial payments, role control, multiple currencies, and UPI QR codes have been added.
