  • Nimbalyst Mobile (iOS). Mobile application to create, continue, and manage AI sessions with reliable synchronization. Includes push notifications when away from the desk and remote Codex and Claude agent sessions.
  • GPT-5.4 support in Codex. Full integration with OpenAI's latest model inside the Codex agent. Leverages improved reasoning and code generation capabilities of GPT-5.4.
  • Configurable thinking level for Codex. Adjust the reasoning depth of the Codex agent to balance speed and quality in AI-assisted programming sessions.
  • Interactive prompts in Codex. Implementation of the AskUserQuestion function within Codex sessions, enabling bidirectional dialogue between the agent and the developer.
  • Per-provider MCP servers. Independent activation of MCP servers for Claude and Codex, granting granular control over the tools each agent can utilize.
  • Session mentions with @@ autocompletion. Typing @@ in the chat input triggers a typeahead menu to reference other AI sessions. Mentioned sessions can be dragged and dropped directly from the file tree or the sidebar.
  • Kanban board for sessions (Cmd+Shift+K). Visualization of sessions in collapsible columns with peek preview and drag-and-drop between phases. The agent assists by tagging sessions automatically.
  • Session metadata widget. Enriched display of phase transitions, tags, and name changes, providing complete traceability of each conversation's lifecycle with the agent.
  • Secure sharing of sessions and markdown files. Generation of encrypted links to share complete sessions or .md files. Content is accessible only via the URL; Nimbalyst cannot view the shared data. A free account is required.
  • Code signing for Windows via DigiCert KeyLocker. Windows builds of Nimbalyst are now digitally signed, guaranteeing software authenticity and reducing security warnings during installation.
  • System tray menu with session status. Integration in the system tray showing active session states, direct navigation to each session, and a dock badge for sessions requiring attention.
  • Support for custom Claude executables. Ability to configure paths to custom or alternative versions of the Claude executable, facilitating development environments with specific setups.
  • Complete lifecycle management for sub-agents and teammates. Sub-agents and teammates now have creation, monitoring, and termination managed within Nimbalyst. Ongoing work is visualized, and permissions for tool calls are controlled.
  • Optimized performance for sessions with many sub-agents. Improved loading and rendering speed for extensive session histories with multiple sub-agents, reducing UI latency.
  • Automatic worktree archiving. When a branch is clean and merged, Nimbalyst skips the archiving confirmation, streamlining workspace cleanup.

Nimbalyst development started in 2023. The application is primarily built with TypeScript and modern web ecosystem languages to ensure portability and performance on both desktop and mobile devices. The team behind Nimbalyst focuses on the symbiotic interaction between humans and AI agents, integrating state-of-the-art language models (OpenAI, Anthropic) into a collaborative visual environment. Early releases concentrated on Claude integration, and throughout 2024 support expanded to Codex (now with full capabilities), the mobile application was introduced, and security was reinforced through encryption in session exchange.
