  • Blocking from context menu. After installing FirewallEasy, the "Block internet" option appears in the context menu of any executable file (.exe). Clicking it automatically creates a rule in the Windows firewall that prevents that specific program from connecting to the network.
  • Quick unblocking. To restore internet access for a previously blocked application, use the "Unblock internet" option in the same context menu of the .exe file. This action removes the blocking rule created by the program.
  • Drag and Drop support. The main window of FirewallEasy accepts executable files dragged from Windows Explorer. When a file is dropped into the interface, the program immediately generates the blocking rule in the firewall.
  • Command line usage. FirewallEasy includes support for command line arguments, allowing its functions to be integrated into batch scripts (.bat) or other system automations. Available commands allow blocking, unblocking, and checking the firewall status for a specific application.
  • Integration with Windows Firewall. The program does not install its own drivers or network filters. To perform blocking, it uses the standard Windows Firewall interfaces, which guarantees system compatibility and requires no reboots.
  • Rule management by file path. FirewallEasy identifies applications by their full path on the hard drive. This allows managing network permissions even after updating a program, as long as the executable's path does not change.
  • Blocking portable programs. The utility is particularly practical for blocking connectivity of applications that do not require installation and, by themselves, do not offer options to disable their internet access.
  • 64-bit system support. FirewallEasy's development takes into account the specifics of 64-bit Windows versions, including correct handling of the file system and firewall redirections on these platforms.
  • Portability. The application does not require installation and can be run directly from an executable file, making it easy to use from USB drives or on computers where the user lacks administrator privileges to install software (although administrator rights are required to modify the firewall).
  • Preservation of system rules. When creating or deleting its own rules, FirewallEasy does not modify or interfere with firewall rules created by the user, the system, or other programs, acting only on those it manages itself.

The development of FirewallEasy is handled by a programmer known as r57zone. Public information about the project indicates the application has been available for several years and has received updates to maintain compatibility with new Windows versions. The program is written primarily in the C++ programming language, using standard Windows APIs for interaction with the system firewall.
