  • Multiple format support. GPXSee can open GPX, KML, FIT, IGC, NMEA, PLT, TCX, LOC, SLF, SML, OVL, and other track, route, and waypoint files. Each format has its own data structure, and the application correctly interprets coordinates, elevation, and time information.
  • Offline map support. The tool can load maps in formats such as MBTiles, OruxMaps, GeoTIFF, and others. Maps are stored locally, ensuring access without an internet connection.
  • Online map integration. GPXSee can use online tile servers such as OpenStreetMap, as well as WMTS and WMS services, and other map sources defined by the user. Map tiles are downloaded for the area being viewed.
  • Route statistics. Displays data such as total distance, elevation, speed, moving time, and time at rest. Detailed graphs help evaluate performance.
  • Graphs. Shows elevation, speed, heart rate, cadence, power, and temperature graphs, depending on the data available in the file. Graphs can be plotted against distance or time.
  • Route comparison. Multiple tracks can be displayed on the same map to compare differences in paths or performance.
  • Waypoint display. Shows waypoints from loaded files on the map, with their names and descriptions. GPXSee is a viewer, so it does not edit files.
  • Image and PDF export. Can export maps and tracks as PNG images or PDF files, and print them.
  • Display customization. Lets you adjust colors, line widths, and waypoint styles to distinguish between tracks and points of interest.
  • Elevation data. Shows elevation graphs and can use DEM data to supplement or correct the elevation information recorded in the file.
  • Map and POI files. Supports loading custom point-of-interest files and displaying them on the map alongside your tracks.
  • Measurement tools. Measures distances along the tracks and between points on the map.

GPXSee was developed by Martin Tůma. The project began around 2015 as a simple viewer for cycling and hiking tracks. It is written in C++ using Qt for the graphical interface. The application is cross-platform, running on Windows, Linux, and macOS. Over the years, features such as support for more file formats, additional map sources, and richer graphs have been added.
