Creation of Multiple Map Types. The application includes eleven preset structures for visual organization: freeform map, curved line tree, straight line tree, angular list, angular tree, simple curved tree, simple straight tree, simple angular list, simple angular tree, continuous tree, and continuous list. Each type adapts to different thinking styles and information presentation.
Complete Visual Customization. Each node in the mind map can be individually modified in color, shape, font size, and border style. Connection lines between nodes allow adjustment of thickness, color, and style. The map background accepts solid colors, gradients, or images.
Insertion of Multimedia Content. Nodes support embedding images from the device gallery or via camera capture. It is possible to add hyperlinks to external resources or to other nodes within the same map. Text supports basic formatting with bold, italics, and underlines.
Hierarchical Node Management. The node structure allows creation, deletion, duplication, and reorganization operations via touch gestures or context menus. Nodes can be repositioned while maintaining their connections or reassigned to different parents. There is a text search function within the map.
Layer-Based Organization System. Map elements can be distributed across transparent layers that can be activated or deactivated for progressive presentations or simplified views. Each layer can have a distinctive color scheme to identify thematic components.
Advanced Export Options. Projects can be saved in the native MM format or exported to JPEG, PNG, PDF, SVG, HTML, OPML, XML, Plain Text, BMP, and TGA. PDF export includes configuration for pagination, margins, scale, and image quality. Maps can be shared directly to messaging apps or social networks.
Adaptive Display Modes. The interface offers three display modes: full editing, presentation with transitions between nodes, and read-only view. Zoom allows precise scaling with pinch gestures. Map orientation can be vertical or horizontal according to preference.
Predefined Templates and Examples. The application includes starter templates for common use cases: project planning, flowcharts, study outlines, brainstorming, and organizational charts. Each template shows visual and structural configurations that can be modified.
Cross-Device Synchronization. Maps can be saved to local storage or to cloud services configured by the user. The application detects changes in external files and offers update options. It does not include its own synchronization service.
Annotation and Markup Tools. In addition to the main nodes, there are freehand drawing tools to add arrows, geometric shapes, and floating text over the map. These annotations remain in a non-structural top layer.
Shortcut and Gesture System. Navigation includes customizable touch gestures for frequent actions: double-tap to edit a node, long swipe to move branches, three-finger pinch to duplicate. In desktop versions, equivalent keyboard shortcuts exist.
Privacy and Security Settings. Individual maps can be password-protected using AES encryption. The application does not collect usage data without explicit consent. Exported files do not contain personal metadata.

miMind's development began in 2018 by CryptoBees LLC, a company specializing in productivity tools. The initial version was programmed in Java for the Android platform; subsequently, versions were implemented for iOS with Swift and for desktop with C++.
