WobblePic

WobblePic — Free Download. Jelly-like Physics image viewer
WobblePic is a free desktop image viewer for Windows and macOS that simulates real-time soft-body physics. Click and drag any part of an image to stretch, jiggle, and bounce it like rubber. Features include AI-powered segmentation (SAM2) for localized wobble, WebP recording of interactions, support for animated formats (GIF, APNG, WebP), and a built-in file explorer panel.

  • Mass-spring physics engine. When clicking and dragging any area of an image, the program deforms a mesh using a mass-spring system simulated on the GPU. The image stretches like an elastic membrane and returns to its original shape with adjustable elasticity, damping, and inertia parameters.
  • AI segmentation (SAM2). Integrates Meta's Segment Anything 2 model. Click on an object or draw a bounding box, and the AI isolates that region. Subsequent wobble affects only the selected object while the background remains rigid. Runs locally via DirectML on Windows and CoreML on Apple Silicon.
  • Wobble recording to WebP. Press Ctrl+R to start recording all deformations and interactions in real time. The result saves as an animated WebP file with a 30-second safety limit. The recorded file can be reopened and played inside the viewer.
  • Animated format playback. The viewer opens and plays animations in WebP, GIF, and APNG. Playback can be paused on any specific frame, and manual wobble can be applied to that frozen frame, allowing frame-by-frame manipulation of moving scenes.
  • Extensive format support. Recognizes and opens both static and animated images in JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP (static and animated), TIFF, AVIF, HEIC, HEIF, and APNG. No external converters or additional plugins required.
  • Built-in file explorer panel. Includes a directory browser with folder tree and file list. Enables folder navigation, image opening with a single click, and right-click context menus for rename, copy path, or file management on both Windows and macOS.
  • Zoom and pan with trackpad support. Images can be magnified up to 10x using mouse wheel, + and - keys, or pinch gestures on macOS trackpads. Once zoomed, drag with left mouse button or two-finger drag on trackpad to navigate across the image.
  • Pin mode (fixed points). Allows pinning specific points of the image so they do not move during wobble. When activated, anchors are placed with clicks; then, when stretching nearby areas, the pinned points remain stationary, creating controlled deformations similar to fabric held by pins.
  • Deformation radius adjustment. From the settings panel (top-right corner), the wobble influence diameter is modified. A small radius affects only a local area around the cursor, while a large radius deforms a broader portion of the image, useful for global effects or fine precision.
  • Elasticity and bounce adjustment. Numeric controls determine how much the image stretches (elasticity) and the rebound intensity after releasing the click (damping). High values produce a very soft jelly-like effect; low values result in a stiffer feel with rapid recovery.

WobblePic was created by an independent developer known as "wobblepic" on GitHub. The first public version appeared in 2023. The program is written primarily in C++ using the Qt framework for the graphical interface and OpenGL with shaders for real-time physics simulation. The soft-body physics engine runs entirely on the GPU using vertex shaders and parallelized mass-spring systems. SAM2 segmentation was integrated in 2024 leveraging local inference via DirectML (Windows) and CoreML (macOS Apple Silicon).
