Real-time search. When typing in the search field, the program instantly filters the results, displaying a list of applications, files, and folders that match the query. The index is generated and updated in the background, allowing for immediate response without needing to perform manual hard drive searches.
Quick application launch. The main function is to run programs installed on the system without needing to navigate through the Start Menu or desktop. A double-click on an item in the results list starts the corresponding application. This method reduces the time needed to find and open software.
File and folder search. In addition to applications, Executor indexes and allows searching for specific files and directories. Users can locate work documents, images, or any other file type by typing their name or part of it in the search bar.
Windows context menu. For each item in the search results, the standard Windows context menu is available. This provides options like opening the file location, copying the full path, sending to a specific location, or viewing the item's properties.
Custom keywords. Users can define keywords associated with specific programs, files, or commands. By typing the keyword, Executor performs the predefined action, which is practical for accessing items with long names or for launching programs with specific parameters.
Execution with elevated privileges. The application allows configuring program launches in administrator mode. This function is necessary for software that requires system permissions to operate correctly, avoiding the need to manually run them with the "Run as administrator" option.
Customizable keyboard shortcuts. A global key combination can be assigned to show or hide the Executor search window. This quick access method allows invoking the tool from any other application in use without needing to use the mouse.
Win + R interception. Executor can be configured to completely replace the Windows Run tool. When this option is activated, pressing the Win + R key combination opens the Executor interface instead of the native system dialog box.
Run at system startup. The program can start automatically with Windows, ensuring its immediate availability after the computer boots. This setting is managed from the program's options without needing to manually modify the startup folder.
Search history management. Executor keeps a record of searched terms and recently launched items. The history facilitates quick access to frequently used items and can be cleared by the user from the settings.
Appearance customization (Skins). The visual aspect of the user interface is modifiable through skins or themes. Users can change the appearance of the search window, colors, and fonts to adapt it to their visual preferences.
Auto-complete options. The behavior of the input field can be adjusted to control how suggestions are displayed. Options include setting the maximum number of results shown and the matching criterion (by word start or match anywhere in the name).
Screen alignment. The position where the search window appears is configurable. It can be centered on the screen or aligned with different screen edges. This flexibility allows adapting the location to the user's comfort.
Auto-hide. After launching an application or selecting a file, the Executor window closes automatically. This behavior prevents the interface from remaining on screen after performing an action, keeping the workspace clear.
