Local history with project organization. Captures and recordings are automatically saved to a local library. Users can tag images and organize them into projects for later retrieval from the application history.
Advanced file management through workflows. Sequences of automatic actions after capture can be configured: save to disk, upload to cloud, copy to clipboard, and open editor, executing in sequence according to user-defined rules.
Pixel measurement tools. Includes an integrated ruler and color picker that operate across the full screen. These tools display distances, angles, and color values in HEX or RGB format in real time.

Development of XerahS began in 2021 as a modern reimplementation of classic capture tools. The development team, led by open-source software contributors, aimed to create a unified solution for the three major operating systems. The program is primarily written in C# using the Avalonia UI framework for the graphical interface, ensuring portability without relying on emulation or compatibility layers.
